The Pirate FM volunteer scholarship scheme called 'The Programming Academy' 

Building on the success of two years of Programming Academy students, 63% of students have already undertaken paid work with Pirate FM and have learned a multitude of skills, giving them a behind the scenes exposure to working on a radio station. One is employed as a producer on Pirate Oldies, plus others are working as radio production freelancers, plus working in community radio stations, as well as undertaking Love Crew duties supporting events across Cornwall.

If you have a burning ambition for a career in radio, then maybe you'd like to be on the next intake.

If you would like to apply for a place then please read the application criteria below.

You must be 18 years old or over / Perform a satisfactory interview / Demonstrate a clear intention to work in media, or be aiming to find permanent work in radio having had experience already in hospital or student radio / Priority may be given to those studying a recognised media/journalist course / Live in or near the catchment area (it is preferable that the candidate holds a full driving licence)

The Opportunities:

All Academy Students must be able to spend one early morning (6-10am) for a minimum period of 6 months.

Programming Academy - 5 x Production Places available 6-10 am one day per week for the Neil and Tina Breakfast Show.  It would be helpful to have a basic knowledge of Adobe Audition, and you must be be computer literate.
