Win tickets to see Bastille, plus other top bands at Leopalooza, near Bude all this week on Breakfast
Leopallooza, one of The Guardian’s ‘Best Boutique Festivals’ and winner of ‘South West Festival of 2012’- Cornish Guardian / Clean Slate Music (readers & critics poll) returns this Summer with three hard-hitting headliners.
The chart topping BASTILLE....”Addictive melodies, humble lyrics and a cohesive sound, Bastille are a band where the buzz words couldn't be truer.” – DigitalSpy.com; Party-starters MAN LIKE ME.... “Man Like Me are entertainers… (they) play music to drink lager to, and they do it in a way where even the most prudish hipster can't help but join in.” - 405.com and the recently confirmed soul singer JACOB BANKS, fresh from both his showcase on Later...with Jools Holland and his support tour with Emeli Sandé.
The headliners join a lovingly hand-picked, eclectic mix of the very best emerging talent, including: SWISS LIPS, THE SKINTS, BLUE ROSE CODE, JETTA, WET NUNS, FINDLAY, ELIZA & THE BEAR, BEBE BLACK, STRAIGHT LINES AND KEZIA...with plenty more acts to be announced.
There are also many more exciting additions to the Leopallooza weekend yet to be announced.
From a small party with a burning car to a popular, well-regarded new music festival (with a burning car), Leopallooza has been a constant labour of love for the four organisers and their close crew of friends who help out, all of whom do it for nothing more than the love of a good party.
Completely independent, fairly-priced and with core values which have helped shape and focus the direction of the festival since the very first event over 7 years ago, Leopallooza has garnered and nurtured a significant, passionate following from it’s attendees. Come once, and we think you’ll probably come back.
Leopallooza takes place in a beautiful, hidden valley in the North Cornish countryside, surrounded by trees, fields, custom-built stages and bars. It’s just a short drive from some of the best beaches in the UK.
Leopallooza was recently named one of the ‘Best Boutique Festivals’ of the summer by The Guardian, and was described as ‘one to watch’ by The Independent. It won the Clean Slate ‘Best Festival in the South West’ award in 2012, and it was also shortlisted as the ‘Best Small Festival’ and ‘Best Grassroots Festival’ at the 2010 festival awards.
Leopallooza is, essentially, a festival created by festival fans, and this informs the whole event:
"We works on a ‘Later with Jools’ style set-up, where bands alternate and the audience don’t have to walk long distances to visit the next stage. Queues are rare, the toilets are kept clean and food & drink prices are purposely kept low. There are no hidden charges.
"As well as home-grown talent, Leopallooza attracts bands and musicians from around the world, some who fly in specifically to play this one gig: such is the increasingly credible reputation of Leopallooza as a festival that counts, amongst both burgeoning and established artists, and reputable agents throughout the industry."
