Tina was invited along to meet the students of Bodriggy Academy who've got loads going on for healthy eating. 

They are a flagship school as part of Cornwall Healthy Schools. On June the 19th, it will be their first Healthy School Food Fair, and they have a celebrity chef who will be cooking with their own school chef, local food producers will have stalls, all children in the school will be making dishes, we will be selling produce from our poly tunnel, our kitchen staff will be making chilled drinks and healthy snacks

The journalism students show Tina the poly tunnel where they have begun growing produce, but they did have a school competiion to design the best scarecrow! You can see the scarecrow entries in the gallery.

 

Tina gets to sample a delicious roast dinner with some of hte girls who have been out filming at Newlyn Fish Market

 

Finally pupil Thomas Osborne was dining with his grandparents, which happens for one child weekly, and he's chosen a new menu which the kids will all get to sample.

School Dinners Penrice Academy

The students and staff of Penrice Academy came to Pirate FM to record an advert for the Careers advice week and met Neil and Tina into the bargain.  They then took over the airwaves!

Whitemoor Academy School

Tina was invited along to meet the strudent s of Whitemoor Academy who've been on a campaign to get celebrity chef Jamie Oliver along to teach then how to eat more healthily.  They're off for a viist to Fifteen soon and have been promised a surprise...

The kids have been campaigning for a celebrity chef to come and visit - they tell Tina what it's all about.


 

The Year 6 students had a special visit to the local secondary school and enjoyed the perfomance as you'll hear above.

 

The School Council have been busy getting new outdoor play equipment for playtime - well, it would have been rude not to give it a go!!

And the healthy eating included making fruit salad.

School Dinners Lanner Primary School

Tina was invited by brothers Sam and Thomas to pay a visit to Lanner Primary School to enjoy school dinners. This was because their cousin had a school dinners visit at his school! Both boys have been nagging secretary Mrs Tucker about when the visit would take place. So Mrs Tucker wasn't surprised when she got a phonecall from Tina.

On an icy day Tina went along to meet the kids.

Tina meets the school council who talk about playground improvements and the year 6 girls tell us their plans for the Granny Job memorial gardens...

 

Finally year 6 have just done their mock SATs and tell us all about their fundraising efforts and what they want to be when they grow up!

School Dinners Mawgan-in-Pydar

Tina paid a school dinners visit to the staff and pupils at Mawgan in Pydar County Primary School.  The kids have been working very hard on producing a campaign for Westminster as part of a competition to introduce a new law - or amend an existing law. Class 1 decided to focus on litter and tell us why.

 

And the Key Stage 1 enjoy all the activities in the playground, whatever the weather.

 

Also, the ladies in the house unveil Jungle Beats FM. 

 

Neil and Tina are worried about their jobs now.
