May Day in Padstow
Pirate FM was in Padstow for the huge annual May Day celebrations.
The weather took everybody by surprise; despite the forecast saying rain, the day started with blue skies and sunshine and stayed dry well into the afternoon.
James Martin spent the day in Padstow, chatting to locals and visitors (from as far away as Holland and Australia!). Locals told him that the May Day celebrations are on a par with Christmas.
The carnival atmosphere in the town is very strong and is a day where everybody seems to be smiling - and for the local people who are involved it evokes powerful emotions, being a tradition which has been handed down since time immemorial - some believe that it goes back as far as the bronze age.
All in all, a colourful, vibrant day which attracts people from near and far.

Pirate FM, Citroen and Hawkins
Pirate FM has chosen Cornish motor-dealer Hawkins to replace its fleet of vehicles.
Each of the ten Citroens C4s is decked out in a black and white design, inspired by the flag of St Piran, declaring "Love Cornwall, Love Pirate FM".
The station's Managing Director Beverley Warne welcomed the deal as a vote of confidence in Cornish business, from the Duchy's most listened to radio station.
The sleek design will help reinforce the Pirate FM brand and will be seen across Cornwall, driven by our sales and news teams.
