Puppy Love: Europe's Oldest Seal Becomes A Dad

Dad is the word for one of Cornwall's oldest seals.

Babyface has surprised his keepers at Gweek Seal Sanctuary by becoming a father again at the age of 36

That is around 80 in human years.

Jenny Lewis from the animal care team said it was a bit of a shock when they noticed a female was pregnant: "He is swimming around the pool proud of himself, yeh! We're a little bit surprised the sly dog. I think he's actually the oldest common seal in Europe that we know off so we definitely weren't expecting him to be getting up to those sorts of shenanigans.

"He is the only male in that pool. He gets three square meals a day; he's lovely and healthy so I suppose it's not that surprising. But you would have thought given his age he wouldn't be that interested anymore but maybe that's just us being naïve I guess. "
