Helen Ross McGill is a senior midwife at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. She said: "Her anxieties might not be any higher, but perhaps the team around her might have a different attitude. And not that we don't give everyone one hundred per cent care, but she is quite a high profile personality.
"Actually midwifery is a real privilege to be present at, on the whole, the happiest moments of people's lives. We see the best of people actually."
Pirate FM has spoken to one Cornish mum who may end up sharing a birth date with Kate, if her labour stretches into a second day.
Roz Meehan from Callington is due to give birth to her second child on Tuesday. She said: "It feels really uncomfortable, you can't stand, you can't sit, you can't do anything, but as soon as the baby comes, the pain just, it all sort of disappears. Your body sort of goes back to normal again, your sort of back to your normal self again.
"It's a little bit exciting, that they could be born on the same day. The only thing that I got told that worked for me was thinking to yourself, the pain is going to get worse. Because then if it doesn't, it keeps you more relaxed because you just think 'it's going to get worse, it's going to get worse', and before you know it, it's sort of over."
