Boil Water Warning
7:00am 29th July 2013
One and a half thousand families around Carbis Bay and Lelant are warned to boil their water.
The official advice comes from South West Water.
It is worried about samples taken from the Steeple Service Reservoir.
A spokesperson said "Due to concern over some water quality samples from the Steeple Service Reservoir, we have today (28 July) issued a precautionary boil water notice to approximately 1,500 properties in the Carbis Bay and Lelant area.
"Affected customers will be notified when supplies return to normal. We apologise for the inconvenience and we are working hard to resolve the issue as rapidly as possible."
The company is urging customers to boil their water - then let it cool before drinking it or using it to prepare food or clearning teeth.
But officials say it is fine to use the water for showering, bathing, flushing the toilet and washing clothes.7:00am 29th July 2013
