Victory For Grieving Mum As Safety Work Starts
7:01am 29th July 2013
A Hayle mum has told Pirate FM she feels "complete and utter joy" after getting a crossing at the spot that claimed her little boy's life.
Work is starting at Loggans Road where Caleb Hollow was hit by a car days before Christmas...
Mum Dawn and other locals launched a safety campaign after the eleven year old became the second child to die on the stretch.
She said: "I know parents always say it about their children - but he really was such a good boy. He was polite, he was outgoing. He liked playing with his mates - he went down the park.
"It's why it's just such a shock - he was just crossing the road to get the school bus when he'd been down at the park on his BMX and everything.
"I think you just learn to live and deal with it - but focussing on the campaigning has helped. As well as getting something good out of something so negative we're helping others as well. It's for future children."
