Spate of Car Thefts in Looe

There is a crime warning over car parks in Looe.

It is after thieves struck at the Lansallos National Trust site.

They made off with cash, an iPad, clothes and cards.

Windows were smashed and doors were jemmied.

It happened between 2pm and 6pm on Thursday 8 August.

Offenders smashed the driver’s window of a Vauxhall Astra and stole a digital camera, an iPad valued at £500, and two jackets.
 
They got inside a Lexus 200 using the same method before stealing a wallet containing various bank cards and £30 cash.
 
The driver’s door to a third vehicle, a Volkswagen Bora, was jemmied and £60 in cash was taken.
 
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the offences to contact them on 101, quoting crime reference BE/13/435.
 
Visitors to the isolated car parks of the area are advised to remain vigilant and not leave any valuable items on show.
