6% Council Tax Rise is Scrapped
2:19pm 22nd October 2013
Plans to put up Council Tax in Cornwall by 6% are scrapped.
Councillors have voted against the idea as they try to save us from the worst of the budget cuts.
That means they will vote on a 2% rise in November.
Officials have also decided to do away with the free meals they get at the Countie Hall canteen which, at the moment, cost taxpayers around £8 thousand a year.
