It is revealed Cornwall has one of the highest concentrations of fast food outlets in the southwest.
Health officials think they tend to cluster around deprived areas increasing the chances of obesity.
One in four children in the Duchy is now overweight by the time they start school.
Professor Kevin Fenton is from Public Health England and wants us to cut down on saturated fat and sugar: "Quite a while ago I made the decision to switch from sugary drinks into diet and then over time I then swapped from diet to water and it was a great swap for me. And that's one of the things, it took me a while to do but I've certainly done that and I do more exercise as well.
"What we're encouraging is for families to make simple swaps to what they eat and drink to really reduce the amount of sugar and fats that they take into their diet. It's a much easier way to achieve this rather than asking families to make big changes at the beginning of the year."
