"Arson" Attack on Lostwithiel Home

Fire crews who have been tackling a house blaze in Lostwithiel call it "arson."

An investigation is starting into what sparked flames on Castle View on Sunday night.

Teams called in back up from Fowey and Bodmin - but fortunately nobody was at home.]

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "One fire appliance from Lostwithiel, one fire appliance from Fowey and one fire appliance from Bodmin attended a report of a house fire.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus had extinguished a fire on the ground floor by 2230hrs. A search was made but nobody was found to be in the property.

"Arson is suspected and a joint police and fire investigation will continue on Monday."
