Cat And Kitten Found Dumped In Brambles in Bodmin
10:02am 18th March 2014
A cat and kitten have been found starving in a taped up box in Bodmin.
The creatures were discovered dumped in brambles at the Beacon.
The older cat is thought be around twelve months old, while the younger is around three months.
Animal Welfare Officer Felicity Cross said: "The cats are extremely emaciated.
"It was a public area so we don't think they had been there for a long time.
"These cats weighed about half what we would expect for their age.
"We hope the owners will come forward and let us know what has happened or that someone else knows something about these poor cats."
The older, mother cat is a domestic long haired tortoiseshell and the kitten is black and white.
The cats - renamed Foxy and Badger - are recovering at RSPCA in St Columb.
Foxy, the older cat, weighed just 1.7 kilos. She would be expected to weigh around 4 kilos.
Badger weighed just half a kilo which would usually be the weight of a cat aged just five or six weeks.10:02am 18th March 2014
