A Bude surfer whose Go-Pro video went viral after he was sworn at and told in no uncertain terms to get 'back to England' speaks out.

Thousands have watched a paddle boarder lay into Phil Brown after he shared a wave.

The 29 year old says he is worried it has made Cornwall look bad: "Fair enough yes I did want an apology in the first place but I had no idea that this would escalate in this manner and I just want to shake the guys hand and just let it all go and apologise really.

"I'd like to think now that this isn't something that happens in Bude at all. This is the first incidence that I've encountered of it and I've lived here my whole life. People shouldn't be put off by coming to Bude just because of something that's caught on and gone viral that has no reflection on the place or on Cornish people or even on Liverpudlians either. Perhaps he was just having a bad day.

"If he does happen to listen to this then I am more than happy for him to come and find me or contact Pirate FM and shake my hand and we can both apologise. I hope that nobody shares anything else on Facebook. Please just let it die down. I want it to stop now before it goes any further."
