Stabbing in Newquay

A man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Newquay.

Police say the 42 year old suffered serious injuries on Fernhill Road on Thursday lunchtime.

Detectives are have launched a manhunt to find his attacker.

Anyone who might have seen something just before 1pm is being urged to come forward.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Newquay.

"At around 12.50pm on Thursday 15 May a man was assaulted in the area of Fernhill Road.
 
"The 42-year-old victim sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Treliske Hospital by ambulance.
 
"The suspect, who has not yet been located, is described as male, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins, bald, of average build and was possibly wearing a grey top.
 
"Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 377 of 15 May."
