Looe Coach Crash Sparks Seatbelt Warning

The Looe coach crash is prompting a fresh seatbelt warning.
Two women died and fifty were hurt when it ran into a wall in Morval.
Some passengers say not everyone on board was strapped in.
Kevin Clinton from RoSPA tells the Westcountry Tonight children are not covered by the law when travelling on a coach.
He said: "Children under the age of fourteen are not required to wear seatbelts on coaches, even though seatbelts are present, and that is because it's not clear who would be legally responsible, it's not feasible for a coach driver to be checking if a child in say row twenty is wearing a seatbelt, because that would be distracting for the driver.
"If you are fourteen years or over the law is that you must wear your seatbelt, the coach operator must tell you this by the driver making an announcement, signs by the seat or by some sort of audio-visual presentation."7:01am 17th May 2014
