Sailor Dies On Board Devonport Warship

A sailor has died on board a warship docked in Devonport.
Police were called to the Plymouth base this morning, to HMS Bulwark.
It is thought the sailor was stuck in a lift shaft at the time.
Police and health and safety inspectors are investigating.
A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Executive said: "The HSE are aware of the incident and two inspectors have gone over to the site. Police are currently leading this investigation."
Devon and Cornwall Police have released the following information:
'Police were called to HM Dockyard Devenport at around 10.54am this morning (Wednesday) following a reported industrial accident on board HMS Bulwalk.
A crew member had reportedly sustained injuries having been stuck in a lift shaft.
Both ambulance and fire service are also in attendance.
Police can confirm that a man died at the scene as a result of the incident.
Police are investigating the death together with the health & Safety Executive. The death is not being treated as suspicious.'
