Newquay Rape Charge

A man has been charged with rape after a woman was taken to hospital from Newquay.

This happened in the Gannel area during the early hours of Tuesday.

A 30 year old from the resort has appeared at Bodmin magistrates accused of several offences including rape, sex assault, kidnap, robbery and criminal damage.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Truro Crown Court on the 8th July.

A 44 year old man has been arrested and released on police bail until 5 August.
