St Michael's Hotel and Spa is revealing plans for a new health and fitness suite, rooms and apartments next door.
It will create seventy new jobs.
Owner Nigel Carpenter wants to improve Gyllyngvase beach too: "We should be really proud of our natural landscape, our beautiful sands, cleanliness and those awards signify a lot to potential visitors. It is a major attraction. So we want to make sure that we not only have a nice resort but visitors have a wonderful beach and area to enjoy.
"People wanting to come to Cornwall see Cornwall as a place of purity, of natural beauty ... and if we can't win a Blue Flag, which we put so much effort into winning, then I think it's a really poor do."
