Plymouth Swimmer Takes Gold
10:37am 30th July 2014
Plymouth's Commonwealth double gold winner says he will use the southwest to keep him grounded.
Ben Proud is the fifty metre freestyle and fifty metre butterfly champion.
He won a bronze in the relay.
The nineteen year old is travelling back to the city to start preparing for his next competition.
He admits three medals is pretty amazing, he said: "I couldn't have left not knowing that I'd let people down, but just didn't finish off the whole thing, so I'm massively relieved.
"I use some things to push me on a bit, at the end of the day I'm still the same guy I've just got two extra medals in my pocket, I'm just gonna go back to Plymouth and get my head down train as hard as I can and hopefully do the same improvements I did this year, next year."10:37am 30th July 2014
