Penzance Jubilee Pool Repair Work To Start
8:01am 3rd August 2014
Pirate FM is told repair work on Penzance's Jubilee Pool will begin "quickly."
That is according to the council.
It is after the town won a £2m grant from the government to fix damage from the winter storms.
Massive waves battered the historic lido.
Martin Nixon from the Friends of Jubilee Pool is pleased they have got the cash.
He said: "All that money will go forward to strengthen the pool, to refurbish it, the pool has been on the seafront since 1935 and we are hoping it can last certainly for another 100 years.
"It looked pretty bad, from the point of view of the pool structure, anybody who has been down to the pool, the far south western end of the pool had suffered quite considerable damage, there was lots of rubble lying around and it really did look quite a state."8:01am 3rd August 2014
