Callington PE Teacher Facing Jail For Sexual Relationship With Pupils
7:04am 5th September 2014
A Callington PE teacher is facing jail for having sex with two pupils.
Luke Maslen from Pensilva made friends with them on social media.
We are not allowed to name the girls - but can tell you one was under sixteen when the relationships started back in 2012.
It went from online to exchanging up to two hundred texts a day - and then became physical.
One was bought cuddly toys and treated to trips to McDonalds.
He had denied seven counts of sexual activity - but was found guilty by a jury at Truro Crown Court.
Judge Christopher Harvey Clark, QC, told the twenty-four year old: "The jury have convicted you on powerful evidence, strong evidence, on these counts and as a consequence I shall be sending you to prison.
“It will be my sad duty to pass a sentence reflecting the public revulsion at a teacher having undertaken sexual misbehaviour with a pupil and that sentence inevitably will involve imprisonment.”
Sentencing will happen next month.
