Crash Death: Victim's Family "Extremely Saddened"

The family of a Liskeard man who died in a crash on the A38 say they are "extremely saddened."

John Bailey's landrover hit a parked up lorry trailer near Carkeel on Saturday, shutting a stretch of the road for six hours.

The 67 year old's family said in a statement: "As a family we are extremely saddened by John's passing.

"Our thoughts go out to all those affected by these events and we ask for privacy at this time while we try to come to terms with this tragedy."

Specialist forensic teams were at the scene over the weekend.

The investigation is being conducted by the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit at Plymouth.

Police are asking anyone who saw what happened at around 7.15am are asked to phone 101, quoting log 220 of 6th September 2014.
