Cornish Pirates V. London Scottish
8:02am 14th September 2014
We are being told that the Cornish Pirates are "chomping at the bit" after that home defeat to Yorkshire.
Our guys welcome London Scottish on Sunday.
They lost by 11 points last week, with the match ending 18 -29.
But player coach Gavin Cattle says there were some postives: "There's no heads down; we keep playing to the end. We've got a little bit of a reputation of diving in the second half and the boys showed evidence that's not going to happen this year but we need to back that up this week."
London Scottish, on the other hand, beat Rotherham Titans 32 - 23 last weekend.
They had a try count of 5-1 in a game where skipper Mark Bright scored his first hat-trick in the Championship.
So after losing to Yorkshire, Gavin Cattle is expecting another tough test: "London Scottish will be exactly the same. They've got more experience, Premiership and Championship experience in their squad, so it's another big challenge for our boys. I know some of the boys are chomping at the bit after last week's performance so let's hope for a result this week."
The only change in the Cornish Pirates line-up from the one that started against Yorkshire Carnegie sees fit again skipper Chris Morgan return to the side in place of Jake Parker.
On the bench back-rower Matt Bolwell and wing Luke Jones will be keen to make their first Championship appearances of the season, as will utility back Bertie Hopkin who would actually be making a Championship debut.
Cornish Pirates: 15 Matt Evans, 14 Kieran Goss, 13 Tom Riley, 12 Rheon James, 11 Kyle Moyle, 10 Kieran Hallett, 9 Tom Kessell; 1 Paul Andrew, 2 Tom Channon, 3 Adam Jamieson, 4 Marcus Garratt, 5 Darren Barry, 6 Chris Morgan (capt), 7 Alex Cheesman, 8 Laurie McGlone.
Replacements: 16 Aaron Carpenter, 17 Jamal Ford-Robinson, 18 Tyler Gendall, 19 Will Graulich, 20 Matt Bolwell, 21 Bertie Hopkin, 22 Luke Jones.
The match kicks off at the Mennaye at 3pm.
