New Calls To Save Cornish Leisure Centres
3:51pm 18th September 2014
Campaigners to save a Cornish leisure centre call on support from a government minister.
Culture Secretary Sajid Javid is visiting the Dragon centre in Bodmin.
It is after Pirate FM told you the council is reviewing leisure centres across the Duchy.
Is it as the council tries to save costs.
15 year old Tristan Thomas has launched a petition and has more than 3400 signatures to try and save it.
He said: "It has a lot of history for me, it is where I learnt to swim as a child, I had a lot of parties there as a child and went to lots as well, it has a lot of history behind it and it's one of the only things for people to do in Bodmin.
"My younger siblings are starting to use it now, they are at that age, and to see it stripped away from them is just going to be heart breaking for them, and adults as well, my whole family uses it, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and it's just not right to take it away."3:51pm 18th September 2014
