A Cornish driver has told how he turned the corner - to find a camel stood by the side of the road.

Dave Rideout says he was driving near Coverack on Sunday evening, when he came face to face with the creature.

He told Pirate FM: "I'm renting a cottage at Coverack because we love the sand there, but it's not quite the Arabian desert. So you can imagine my surprise when on my way out last night I came across this camel."

There is a well known local camel breeder nearby - so the creature may not be too far away from home after all.
