UPDATE: Looe 'Attempted Murder': Potential Witness Identified

Police investigating what they call an attempted murder in Looe say they have identifed a potential witness.

A 57 year old woman suffered serious head injuries after the shooting in Millandreath car park.

The attack is believed to have happened in the early hours of Monday 29th September.

Detectives had released CCTV footage from later that morning to help them trace a dog walker they wanted to speak to.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The possible witness that police sought has now been identified.
 
"The Major Crime Team is continuing to investigate the shooting of a woman in Millendreath which is believed to have taken place in the early hours of the morning of Monday 29 September.
 
This has resulted in a serious head injury of a 57-year old-women from Millendreath who is seriously ill and continues to be treated in Derriford Hospital.
 
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have information about this incident."

Anyone with any information about this incident is being asked to call police on 101, quoting police reference 102 of 29/09/14 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
