VIDEO: Youngsters Wave Dodge Despite Safety Warning
10:02am 9th October 2014
Officials warned us to stay away from Cornwall's coast because of an "extreme risk to life."
But Pirate FM has been shown video of children playing in the giant waves during Wednesday evening's high tide.
It happened in Newquay as winds began building towards 60mph, driving on the super-high spring tides.
That prompted a warning from the Environment Agency that: "As a consequence of these tide conditions we are expecting significant wave and spray overtopping at exposed coastal locations, with associated risk to property.
"We STRONGLY ADVISE pedestrians and motorists to avoid these locations around the times of high tide, as there will be extreme risk to life."
The warnings stretched across the north Cornish coast and lasted over Thursday morning's high tide.
But they do not appear to have been heeded by everybody as our video shows...10:02am 9th October 2014
