A man has been airlifted to Derriford after falling 25 feet from cliffs in Looe.
The local in his sixties was gardening when he tumbled onto the rocks below near Hannafore Road.
He has suffered serious head injuries.
Police, fire crews, lifeboats and the air ambulance were scrambled at lunchtime.
Andy Huber is from Brixham Coastguard, he said: "All the emergency services arrived, located the gentleman who had fallen approximately 20-25 metres down the cliff side, we found out he was busy pruning the cliff side with no safety equipment and then fell to the bottom.
