Woman Found on Cornish Beach Dies

A woman rushed to hospital after being found in a 'serious condition' on a Cornish beach has died.

Emergency services got the call at 9am on Tuesday after she was discovered on the shoreline at Marazion.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The woman has been pronounced deceased at Treliske Hospital.
 
"Formal identification has not yet taken place although the deceased is believed to be a woman in her 70s who was reported missing from her Marazion home earlier today.
 
"Her next of kin have been informed.
 
"The death does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
 
"An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the woman being found."
