Is There A Penguin On The Loose In Looe?
6:32am 17th November 2014
(Updated 6:32am 17th November 2014)
It is claimed there could be a penguin on the loose in Looe.
The news has come from the town's Tourist Information Centre, which has posted a plea for help on its Facebook page.
The alleged sighting was reported to slightly sceptical staff last week - who are now appealing for other people to come forward if they have seen something.
It is supposed to have been seen on Hannafore beach.
Staff said: "On Wednesday, a man came into Looe Tourist Information Centre claiming he had seen a penguin on Hannafore Beach.
"I explained that it was probably a guillemot or an oyster catcher but he was sure it was a penguin (he had seen one in New Zealand).
"The gentleman phoned up yesterday to ask if there had been anymore sightings. If anybody is up that way enjoying the sunshine today, please keep an eye out for a lost penguin, and if you see it please tell us."
If you have seen the Looe penguin we would also love to hear from you...6:32am 17th November 2014
