Tributes are being paid to the Gunnislake lorry driver killed in the M5 crash.

Kye Thomas had moved house with his family the day before the pile-up.

On his Facebook wall a mate has written, "'RIP to a great friend Kye. What a shock, I've just found out and our hearts go out to Rebecca and their children, another great person gone going to miss you."

Friends have told how he was happier than he had ever been after deciding to open a Taekwondo club.

Mark Samworth, Director of Samworth Brothers Limited said, “The thoughts of everyone at Samworth Brothers are with the families and friends of all these individuals and others involved in this terrible incident. Our main priority at the moment is to offer as much support and help as needed to the families of those who have died and to the injured driver and his family.  It is also a very difficult time for other colleagues at Samworth Brothers Distribution and we are ensuring our people are being well supported.”

Detectives are trying to work out if smoke from a fireworks display drifted onto the motorway.

In all seven people were killed in the pile-up.

Police are investigating a fireworks display at the rugby club next to the motorway in Taunton. They say it is now a criminal investigation.
