Police hunting for a missing surfer confirm a man's body has been found on a beach in Newquay.

A walker made the grim discovery at Tolcarne this lunchtime.

Oliver Doy's family has been told but detectives say the man has not been identified and are keen to stress that the inquiry is still ongoing.

The man's body has been taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital where formal identification and a post mortem will be carried out.
