Dave Linnell, Principal of Cornwall College, said: "This is excellent news and will build on previous developments on these and other campuses, providing modern and attractive learning facilities for our students to benefit even more from the high quality courses offered at Cornwall College."
Here is an artist's interpretation of how the Camborne campus will look after the development.
MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, George Eustice, supported the College's bid for the SFA funding.
He said: "I am delighted that Cornwall College has been awarded this grant which will help it to continue to go from strength to strength. As I said to the Minister in Parliament, I believe that priority should be given to those institutions that are looking to improve and refurbish existing facilities at a fraction of the cost of a rebuild; I am glad that the Department has recognised this in their decision. I have been really impressed with the change delivered to the Tamar Building and look forward to seeing the rest of the campus similarly rejuvenated."
