A Cornish accountant who admitted sexually abusing a young girl, escapes jail.

A court has heard how Philip Hedges from Pool tried to cover up the attack by suggesting his victim had a nightmare.

A judge told the 53 year old, "I'm told you deeply regret that and you should be utterly ashamed".

He has been handed a one year suspended sentence and ordered to sign the sex offenders register.
