A floating windfarm could be built off the coast of Cornwall.

The 25 million pound pilot project could be ready within four years.

It would be linked to the wave hub off Hayle.

Spokesperson Claire Gibson admits it is at an early stage:

"It's obviously a fairly new industry which is growing substantially in the UK. There's lots of activity outside of Cornwall. It would be quite nice to see if Cornwall could get a small piece of that action"

"Ultimately we need to make sure that the infrastructure that we've got can accommodate a floating wind turbine so we need to understand what it might mean for our cable and the grid connection"
