Newquay gets a new King of the Jungle.
Samson the Lion is the Zoo's latest arrival.
It is hoped he will be a companion for female Connie.
Director Stuart Muir says, "People like to see animals that they perceive as being dangerous and obviously a lion is a very dangerous animal. Certainly for young children, seeing an animal that large and that close is an experience they won't forget. Seeing your first lion is pretty amazing.
"He's quite fiesty according to his keepers. Once we put the two lions together we can't really do anything about it if they don't get on so they'll have to sort out their own differences quite quickly. She's pretty assertive in her own right so I'm not anticipating too many problems".
