Police investigating the death of a 91 year old man from Launceston say they are treating it as murder.
Tom Lang was rushed to Derriford Hospital last week, but died from his injuries a few days later.
Officers say they are trying to establish the cause of death.
In a statement, Mr Lang's family paid tribute:
"Tom was a loving father, uncle and grandfather who will be dearly missed. He died in Derriford Hospital on 20th April 2012 and his death was a shock to everyone who knew him. We would like to thank everybody for their support at this very sad time."
A 19 year old has appeared in court charged with grievous bodily harm and theft.
