Olympic Torch Preparations
8:01am 7th May 2012
Preparations are underway for Cornwall's starring role in the Olympic Torch relay.
It is less than a month until the flame starts its journey at Land's End, before winding its way up to London.
Bosses are revamping the site, putting up new signs and arranging for extra shuttle buses on the 19th May.
Spokeswoman Vicki Crwys-Williams says everyone is working flat out to get it ready in time:
"The eyes of the world, albeit briefly, will be looking at Land's End and that's why we're trying to put our best face forward, painting everything in sight and just making sure everything's ship-shape here. It's a fantastic opportunity to just showcase what's fantastic about Cornwall.
"To get the message out there about Cornwall, really and what's here, I think is really important. Hopefully, it'll mean that visitors will come from around the world to Cornwall and that businesses see it as a great place to do business as well really".
