Underage Drinking Warning

(Updated 7:04am 25th May 2012)
A 13 year old girl is arrested after binging on vodka in Falmouth.
Police say an adult bought the drink after a local shop refused to serve the teenager.
When officers turned up, she turned abusive.
Sergeant Dave O'Neill is issuing a warning about so-called proxy-buying, calling it irresponsible: "Just don't do it. Not only are you putting the kids in danger, you're also committing criminal offences yourself by buying the alcohol and giving it to the kids. So you could end up with a criminal record for doing something which you think is just a bit of fun.
"There is obviously an adult who was available to the kids, so to speak. Shop keepers aren't always to blame. They don't know who they're selling the alcohol to so the responsibility lies with an adult. Please, if you're an adult, do not buy alcohol for children".7:04am 25th May 2012
