Foodbank Helps Three People a Day
7:00am 10th July 2012
Pirate FM can reveal just one Cornish foodbank is handing out meals to more than three people a day.
Falmouth and Penryn Foodbank says it has helped three hundred locals since the beginning of April.
20 year old Clover Ward from Penryn is one of them. She says she has been applying for dozens of jobs, but can not find anything, and is now struggling to put food on the table. "I've just had £85 pounds worth of bank fees from a month ago charged to me on Friday which is basically all of my money. I've only got another £15 left over for another two weeks.
"You feel a bit bad because you're coming down and you're taking food and you know there's alot more people that probably are struggling, but I am actually really struggling. It's almost a bit embarrassing but it's really good that they do have places like this for people."
