A Cornish teenager battling cancer is making a Race for Life sponsorship plea.

Around a dozen women took part to support 18 year old Georgia Sage from Penzance, who is having chemotherapy for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

But Cancer Research UK says only around a third of who raced in Falmouth, Penzance, Wadebridge and Truro will hand-in their money.

Georgia has told Pirate FM it is vital: "Please get it in, it is so important. To do the race and go through all of that and then not to give the money in is a shame really.

"You see up at the hospital what the charities do. They've got a teenage cancer room up there. It just makes time go quicker. You just sit there and you don't have to think about the drugs going into you, you can just relax and watch TV or read the magazines."

Find out how your money helps here.
