Cornwall at the Olympics: Wednesday
7:01am 1st August 2012
Penzance rower Helen Glover is leading the charge for Team GB's first gold medal.
She and Heather Stanning compete in the final of the women's pairs after breaking the Olympic record in their heat.
Pirate FM has found out their coach has been checking their focus by getting people to jump in the water around them. He is hoping it means they will be properly prepared for anything that could happen in the final.
Helen's sister Ruth said: "It's been really good watching her grow up, her running, her hockey. Her mind is on her win. She does so well in everything that she does. I love telling my friends. If anyone asks me about Helen, I'm just really proud of her."
Restronguet's Ben Ainslie's second in the sailing at the moment. Conditions have been challenging for the sailors but the Finn fleet will have a rest day.
Races seven and eight of the 10 race opening series will start from noon on Thursday.
Truro fencers Louise Bond-Williams and Sophie Williams are in action today.
Team GB's cyclists and swimmers lead the charge for more medals.
