Plymouth Argyle's 'Dockyard Derby'
3:25pm 14th August 2012
Plymouth Argyle kick off their season with a Cup clash against rivals Portsmouth.
The Pilgrims faced administraion-hit Pompey in the first round of the Capital One Cup tie on Tuesday evening.
Manager Carl Fletcher admitted he was not sure what squad his opponents would be able to muster. He said: "It's a real tough situation for them. Obviously, you know, we have sympathy for them because we've kind of been through it ourselves. We've watched a few times in pre-season and there's already a few players who've left, so yeah I think we're going to have to wait and see and play it by ear a little bit.
"You can only do so much preparation on the opposition and certain bits and bobs, but like I say, you have to concentrate on what you need to do. We've been trying to do that and like I said, it'll be a real tough game for us, but we're looking forward to it. We're looking forward to the season as a whole."
