Cornish drinkers are given mock beer goggles as part of a summer crackdown on booze-fuelled violence.

Pirate FM has learnt half of violent crime in the Duchy is linked to alcohol.

Now 'What Will Your Drink Cost?' is in Redruth and Camborne to raise awareness of the dangers.

Sergeant Tom Patrick:

"Our shift pattern reflects the pub opening times at the weekend. Overlapping shifts when the pubs kick out because we know that's when we're going to get our trouble. That's when we get our fights, our assaults, our damage to vehicles, drunks walking home running over cars. Over the weekend our main drain on resources is alcohol"

"What you've got to consider is are you having a good time with your mates in the pub having a drink. When you go outside and you get a smack in the eye and you end up in hospital. Or you end up drink driving and end up convicted for that. Or you fall against something, put your hand through a car window. You're not having a good time then"
