All of Cornwall's rugby teams are in action this Saturday.

The Cornish Pirates kick off their Championship season, away to Jersey.

The home side are newly promoted. Our guys beat Newport in a friendly last week.

Backs' coach Harvey Biljon is not expecting an easy ride. He said: "It's probably Championship experience versus Championship excitement. We do know they've recruited very well, they've even recruited some of our ex-players, so we know it's going to be a tough day at the office but we do have that experience and we know what it takes to play in the Championship."

Redruth RFC face south west rivals Taunton.

Meantime, Launceston are hosting newly promoted Chinnor at Polson Bridge.

Captain Tom Rawlings admits he is not sure what to expect from the side. He said: "You don't get promoted for nothing, so they've obviously got some decent players there, they've obviously got a decent squad, apparently they've got quite a tidy kicker. But we've just got to go out and we've just got to try and kickstart the game with the brand of rugby that we've put in place."
