VIDEO: Superman Shot by Cornish Paralympian Goes Viral
6:01am 6th September 2012
The moment a Torpoint Paralympian pulls off a superman shot is going viral.
In the video, David Wetherhill flings himself full stretch onto the floor to bat back a ball in the table tennis.
It has had almost three million views so far and commentators call it the shot of the tournament. His opponent's coach can be seen applauding.
It happened in the fourth set when the twenty-two year old was faced with a seemingly impossible ball disappearing out of reach.
Despite hammering back the unreturnable shot David lost the game to German opponent Thomasz Kusiak.
He tweeted: "I gave it everything, I'll be a better player for that experience – amazing, can't thank u all enough.
"At least I might get a few YouTube hits, Superman diving forehand winner? I practice that I'll have you know #ProudParalympian."
We have ninety-two medals in all at the games so far.
But GB's been overtaken in the table by Russia.
