Biker Loses Life Near Lostwithiel

Cornwall's roads have claimed another life.

A biker has died after being caught in a crash with a car on a junction near Lostwithiel.

He was airlifted to Derriford but doctors could not save him.

A police spokesperson said: "At 1417 hours on Saturday a two vehicle road traffic collision occurred at the junction of the A390 and the B3269 to the south west of Lostwithiel.

"Two vehicles were involved in the collision, a red Honda motorcycle and a burgundy coloured Skoda.
 
"As a result of the collision the motorcycle rider received serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital. Later that evening the motorcyclist died as a result of his injuries. The occupant of Skoda was not injured. A specialist forensic investigation of the scene took place.
 
"Police from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact them on 101 quoting log number 475 15/09/12."
