Striking Cornish teachers warn the government a regional pay deal could create a two-tier education system.

Members of the NASUWT are refusing to submit lesson plans or invigilate exams today, in a separate row over jobs, pay, pensions and workload.

Duchy rep Kathty Wallis says: "If you have a job for equal status in Cornwall which they're going to pay you a third of what you could get somewhere else in the country, where are you going to go? You're going to go there and we're going to be left with what's left over."
