Cornish aid makes it to war torn Syria.

Helston charity Shelterbox has dispatched crates to the border with Iraq as hundreds of refugee families flee the fighting.

Volunteer Becs Novell from St Agnes has been on the line to the Pirate FM News Centre:

“It has been very hard. When I compare my life in St Agnes to what’s going on over here it’s really sad to see so many people having to flee their homes and uproot and leave everything behind and make that dangerous journey.

“There are 200-300 new arrivals each day so there’s a big need. So, we’ll have 200 tents set up to bring shelter, warmth and safety to these newly arriving families”
